Why did Dr. DuBois become a chiropractor?
"I was doing what all kids do... playing outside climbing trees, running jumping and falling ... the next day I couldn't move my legs!!!! My mom was freaked... I could feel my legs; they had good circulation but could not move them. My mom rushed me to the medical doctor and he was unsure of what to do and sent me to a specialist. After two weeks of being carried around from one specialist to another I was scheduled for exploratory surgery as no answers to this mysterious problem where evident. A friend suggested chiropractic. My mom carried me in and ... I walked out!!!!!
I was young and though I was concerned and confused as to why I could not move my legs, I was happy to stay home for a few weeks from school and build models on the couch. The true impact of Chiropractic did not really hit me until I was 21 yrs old. I was riding my motorcycle when a car hit me. I was thrown onto the hood and into the window of the car and performed some flips in the air before landing on the pavement, or so witnesses reported. I just remember waking up in the ambulance. To make a long story short I injured my shoulder, neck and back and had a concussion so after months and months of unproductive therapies I turned to Chiropractic as it had helped me when I was younger. It took some time as my injuries where significant but after receiving regular chiropractic care my spinal problems and my pain slowly disappeared. As a great side effect of the Chiropractic care, those nasty headaches I had had since I was ten where cured.I decided then that I would be a chiropractor so I could help others heal naturally and enjoy the immense benefits of regular chiropractic care.
I attended university at Simon Fraser University graduating in 1994 and enrolled in Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa to continue my education. By 1998 I had graduated and was in private practice.
I was born in New Westminster and schooled locally. I attended Simon Fraser University graduating in 1994 with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. I then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa graduating with honors in 1998 as a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Spinal Decompression is a type of traction therapy applied to the spine in an attempt to bring about several theoretical benefits including:
Create a negative intradiscal pressure to promote retraction or repositioning of the herniated or bulging disc material.
Create a lower pressure in the disc that will cause an influx of healing nutrients and other substances into the disc
Both traction and decompression therapy are applied with the goals of relieving pain and promoting an optimal healing environment for bulging, degenerating, or herniated discs.
Discover the healing power of laser therapy. This advanced treatment method utilizes super luminous and laser diodes to irradiate diseased or traumatized tissue with photons. These energy particles are selectively absorbed by the cell membrane and intracellular molecules, triggering a cascade of complex physiological reactions that ultimately restore normal cell structure and function.
Laser therapy offers a curative approach, providing relief from various symptoms, including pain. Furthermore, it enhances the body's immune system response and facilitates natural healing processes. The therapy is completely safe and has no adverse side effects, making it an excellent choice for promoting healing and well-being.
A shockwave is an intense, but very short energy wave that travels faster than the speed of sound. This technology, which has been used for decades on millions of people, is now employed in extracorporeal shockwave therapy.
Shockwave therapy sessions are relatively short, typically lasting 10-20 minutes, yet they offer successful relief from chronic pain and help restore mobility. While the name may sound intimidating, most individuals find the treatment to be only mildly uncomfortable.
This non-invasive therapy is frequently recommended for patients with sports injuries such as golfer's elbow, tennis elbow, or a pulled hamstring. It is also effective in addressing soft tissue pain, such as that caused by conditions like plantar fasciitis, which affects the heels of the feet.
Increase circulation around injured soft tissues.
Break down calcified deposits (like kidney stones)
Stimulate cells that generate new bone tissue and connective tissue.
Reduce pain by overstimulating nerve endings in the affected area.
